A SIMPLE WORKFLOW

From a little clutter to a little clarity.

01

Paste or start writing

Word and character counts update as the draft changes. Run the counter to see the detailed report.

02

Check the right measurement

A character limit and a word limit are different. Confirm which one your destination uses.

03

Verify at the destination

Different platforms handle punctuation, links, emoji, and hyphenated words differently.

A LITTLE MORE CLARITY

Good questions.
Honest answers.

Everything you need to know before you write.

Why does another app show a different word count?+

Counters use different rules for hyphens, apostrophes, URLs, numbers, and punctuation. Use this count while drafting and verify with the application that enforces your final limit.

Does a character count include spaces?+

Character measurements should always be read with their labels. Spaces, line breaks, and combined emoji can affect how different platforms count a string.

Is the text stored?+

Counting runs in the browser. If you explicitly choose a local save or history feature, it may store the text on that device. Avoid saving sensitive drafts on a shared computer.

Can it tell whether the writing is good?+

No. A count measures length. Use a human review for meaning and quality, and the readability checker for a limited view of reading difficulty.
